Rufus is her other band. Khan was raised the daughter of a Catholic. She was educated at The Hyde Park Saint Thomas the Apostle Church elementary school. Her love for music to her grandmother, who brought her into jazz as a child. Khan began to be a huge fan of blues and rhythm as a preteen and at eleven formed a girl group known as the Crystalettes with her sister Taka.
