Taylor
Taylor Swift, the rarest pop phenomenon is a star who has managed to cross from the country genre to mainstream pop culture, becoming an iconic figure in the world of pop. Swift also took on the entire globe in the process. Swift left her heritage in country music as if she was a second skin and proved she had the finest pop sensibility of her generation. Swift was the only musician/singer to take the popular zeitgeist on the road. The skills she displayed are evident in some of the first songs she released, most notably the Neodue Tim McGraw. But on the second album Fearless that came out in 2008, she was able to discover who she is and find an audience that was large. Fearless had a great success not only on American soil, with six platinum-certified songs. Its Top Ten songs Love Story and You Belong with Me were the main reasons for this. However, it did exceptionally well throughout the world. Swift could build on her progress by releasing Speak Now almost two year later. The popularity of Swift only grew over her next three albums -- Red (2012) 1989 (2014) as well as Reputation (2017) Reputation (2017) and saw her move confidently into the realm of pop where she already belonged. However, even when she reduced her approach with 2020's stripped-down sister album folklore, and Evermore she was still atop the pop world a position she kept with the re-recordings of her earlier catalog, as well as Midnights which was her top-charting synthesizer 2022 album.
