Julia Fiona Roberts is the daughter of Betty Lou Bredemus, and Walter Grady Roberts. She was born on 28 October 1967, in Atlanta. Her family is the fourth Roberts family to have been a resident of Atlanta. It began with her great grandfather John Pendleton Roberts who was an agriculturalist. The Robertses' father was interested in theater from a young time. He was a part of at the Emory University campus in 1952 and also in a variety of productions that were staged around Atlanta. He joined the Air Force, and was stationed in Biloxi in Mississippi, he appeared in a production with Betty Lou Bredemus. Eric Anthony was their first born. They got married in the year. Walter and his wife quit the Air Force in the year 1957 and enrolled Walter at Tulane University. Walter was employed to work for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to be a part of the production team for the television show Bum Bum His Buddies in Decatur Georgia. Walter as well as Betty Lou began producing a children's TV show in the city of Decatur, Georgia titled Bum Bum and His Buddies. The production was funded by the couple themselves. The following year, they started the Actors and Writers Workshop which was in operation for a period of six years. In the meantime, they also had two kids Lelisa (called Lisa) Billingsley in the year 1965, as well as Julia (called Julie) in 1967.
