Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28 the 28th of October, 1967. Julia Fona Roberts is the fourth generation Roberts that resided in Atlanta. Her father was enthusiastic about theatre at an early stage. As in school in Emory University in 1952 he acted in productions on campus and elsewhere in Atlanta. When he was stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi, he was commissioned into the air force in 1953. Betty Lou Bredemus was part of the show as well. They got married in the year 1955, and their first son Eric Anthony was born in 1956. Walter went to Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana after leaving the Airforce in 1957. Walter was hired to work for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to assist on the stage of Bum Bum and His Buddies. The show was filmed in Decatur Georgia. Walter along with Betty Lou started production in 1964 on the children's local Saturday morning show on television called Bum Bum and His Buddies that they self-funded. They founded an Actors and Writers Workshop in that same year. It lasted about six years. They had two more children: Lelisa Billingsley (1965) (also known by the name Lisa) and Julia Billingsley (1967) (also know by the name Julie).
