Lauren Zoe Hernandez (born June 9th, 2000) is an American artistic gymnast. She was a senior gymnast in the U.S. women ?Ts gymnastics team, nicknamed"the "Final Five" in the 2016 Summer Olympics. The U.S. eventually won gold in the team event. Hernandez won the silver medal at the balance beam individual event. 3 She resumed training in late 2018 and expressed interest of returning to earn a spot on the U.S. women's gymnastic team for the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, but she did not qualify to compete in the Olympic Gymnastics Trials. Hernandez, who is also a gymnast, has been an active participant in season 23 of Dancing with the Stars 2016 in which she was paired with Val Chmerkovskiy. Hernandez was host of American Ninja Warrior Junior's inaugural season. She was also on the Nickelodeon animated series Middle School Moguls as Valeria. She is the author of two books: I Got This - To Gold and Beyond, which was a New York Times Bestseller, and She's Got This, which is a children's book.
